• The Determination of the Servant of God

Used with permission Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. The apostle Paulʼs life is a picture of the determined servant of God. Paul loved the Lord Jesus dearly. The cross of Christ was more important to him than anything else. He knew he came from the pits of hell as a child of the devil destined for an eternity without Christ. Paul knew that the…

  • Saved to Serve

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. God in His grace, has accepted us in the beloved, He has led us to the point of salvation, and the conviction upon our hearts that we are sinners needing a saviour. We have made the decision to trust Him as the Saviour of our Souls and the redeemer from our sins. What is next? Many christians stop here: they have trusted the Lord, but they go no further. Yet the Lord is clear: we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works!…

  • The commitments of a servant

Preached by: Pastor Johnny Tan Date: 22 May 2011 Luke 12:35-38  Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are…

  • The Servant

There are many Christians today who do the work of the Lord. Many claim to serve GOD in different capacities out of their freewill. It is vital to note, however, that there is a fundamental difference doing something for God and being a servant of God. Notice three traits of a servant from the verse phrase.. THE SERVANT OF GOD IS A SPECIFIC PERSON: The servant of the Lord is not merely a nameless face or individual. GOD identifies the person He chooses and whom He would to serve Him. The world may despise such a man and look down on such a person. However, if the Lord could choose…

  • Bearing Each Other’s Burdens

As our Saviour bored the cross to Calvary, he was dehydrated, tired, thirsty and near death after the scourging. He was physically weakened and unable to go on. The Roman soldiers knew this and quickly got a man named Simon. The Bible tells us Simon carried the cross to Calvary. The Saviour was unable to continue without Simon’s help of bearing His cross. Notice three lessons from this scene en route to Calvary. HE BORE THE CROSS AS A DUTY The word “compelled” assists our understanding of the nature of this task. It meant “to be called upon to perform a public task not by choice but by being compelled.”…
